'TANYA'S SWORD' in one of Julia's Request in the 1st Generation is a Curio. In many cases, unique items will fall into the category of 'Curios'. These are specific items that are placed by the game at specified locations for you to find for the individual making the Request. The first is what I define as 'Unique Items'. There are different types of items that form the basis of Request Events. One benefit of Tanya's Requests is monetary in nature but that probably is not as important, especially in the 2nd Generation, as the rewards in terms of Skill Level increases. If you accept all of her Requests, you will be forced to discover the locations of almost every type of Monster in the game and, by fighting them, become familiar with the War Trophies each of them drops. Another purpose served by Tanya's Requests is to increase your familiarisation with Monsters and their habitats. Again, as with any Requests, you must complete ALL of the Requests in order. Some of them offer special Weapons or Missing Pages from Spellbooks as rewards. As they all are combat trials, they will raise the Skill Levels of your Character both in the 1st and 2nd Generations. Tanya's Requests are the most numerous, and they serve a number of different purposes. Often these items are Rewards given by OTHER characters when you complete a Request. In the 1st Generation, each of the Eligible Girls has a special Marriage Proposal Item that is needed if you wish to propose marriage. For this reason, you never should dismiss any character's Request as trivial or unnecessary. If, therefore, you neglected to complete any Request made by a character, you will not be able to experience a later Request until you do. Remember that you must experience all Requests in order. Requests in the 2nd Generation from many characters result in the Reward of a Missing Page from a Spellbook. In some cases, however, there will be a point where a Request will lead to a mock wedding event at the Chapel. In the 2nd Generation, your character is not old enough to marry. The Requests will be divided into 1st Generation Request and 2nd Generation Requests for each individual. In the section devoted to other characters, those who appear both in the 1st and 2nd Generations will be listed first, followed by characters who appear only in the 2nd Generation.
In this guide, Requests by Eligible Girls will be listed first, followed by the Requests of all other characters. Beyond that, however, I realized that a mini-guide that discussed every Request that appeared both in the 1st and the 2nd Generation might be extremely useful to players. There are sections devoted to Requests in my General Guide and the Requests of the Eligible Girls are included in my Courtship and Marriage Guide. Requests are made in a specific order and if you do not complete the current Request by any individual you will not be able to access the next Request of that character. Whether or not you actually are interested in marrying a specific Eligible Girl, you should complete ALL of her Requests as well as every other Request that appears on the Board. Requests are the source of income, lumber and other useful items in Rune Factory 2. In other cases, however, you will obtain the item only in the course of completing another character's Request. In some cases, you will obtain the item from the girl herself. Each of the Eligible Girls requires an item that is unique in order to make a proposal of marriage. For all other characters, they increase Friendship levels but often are essential in order to obtain a Special Proposal Item for one of the Eligible Girls. YES NOthe 1st Generation game, they act as the equivalent of 'Heart Events' in other Harvest Moon games.
